The roots hidden in the soil provide support. They claw firmly into the ground and supply the tree or plant with nutrients from the soil. See my mural as a kind of "view through a magnifying glass" into the layers of the roots.

The neon red emphasises the energy that rises through the roots and gives the tree strength. A symbiosis is created between the selected green tones and the exposed concrete. A symbiosis is about individuals of different species living together for mutual benefit or in mutual dependence. But it is also about respect, which I express with my design. Respectful treatment of the architecture. The exposed concrete is part of the picture.

The artwork is emphasised by the wooden elements on the ceiling and walls. A continuation of the wall design can be seen on the large glass windows. Different viewing angles and lighting conditions change the view to the outside. Nevertheless, the view remains undisturbed by the transparent glass elements. Depending on the sunlight, small details appear on the wall surfaces, just as when the sun shines through the foliage of the trees and tickles our eyes. The viewer becomes part of the symbiosis.

It is a "fusion" of glass, wood, concrete and painting. And at the centre is the person (the pupil, the teacher, the visitor) who is greeted by the work. The person is rooted. Rootedness also means "home", feeling connected. I want the pupils to feel exactly that. A connection with nature, the forest, but also with the school and its teachers. Outside, the mural continues on a small wall next to the stairs. This emphasises the connection between inside and outside. The harmonious colours create a connection, even a rootedness between the indoor and outdoor areas.

The continuation on glass was planned together with Derix Glasstudios GmbH & Co. KG, Taunusstein (Germany), planned and realised.
